My toolbars keep moving around. :(

I have various toolbars (Yahoo and Google as well as the usual Windows one) set up so that they take up the minimum amount of space. I unlocked the toolbars, rearranged them and relocked the tool bar BUT they keep putting themselves back in the wrong places.

Right now they're in the right place in this window but if I open another window they may or may not be in the right place

Sometimes they vanish completely and I have to go and tick them in the View menu.

I'm getting annoyed with it now  Any ideas?

Try resetting the toolbar registry settings using this download ---> http://www.dougknox.com/xp/utils/xp_toolbarfix.htm.

I understand that. The download resets toolbar settings and should allow you to place them where you want and lock them in position. Try it :)

    Try:

    Open only one Explorer window,
move the toolbars where you want them,
lock them and close the window

    see if that helps

Another possibility is spyware  or the remanants of old spyware - They often mess around with positions to make sure their toolbar is where they want it to be.

I use the Yahoo one as I get a little icon telling me that I have emails, I use it all the time. I use the Google one for autofill and the clicky search icons :o
