Help with credit ratings

HI there, I know this is strictly credit cards, but I've aready posted on Bank Accounts board and had only one reply, and I know you guys and girls are relaly clued up on credit reports etc.

I've banked with Barclays for about 17 years, but since moving away from my local branch a few years ago, I've had enough of their shockingly poor service and have decided to up sticks. I started this process back in August 08 when I opened my new account with the Co-Op and slowly got things moved (wages from work, DD's etc) and as of this month everyhting is now ZERO!! My portfolio of accounts as it stands online looks like this;

Old student account - Balance £0.00, overdraft facility of £600, £100 cheque guarantee card and cheque book (never used in years)
Current account - Balance £0.00, now with Co-Op, £50 cheque guarantee card and cheque book (never used in years)
Open Plan attached to current account - Balance £0.00
Regular savings account - Balance £0.00, all transferred into Cash ISA
BarclayLoan cleared this month (12 months early!!!)

Now my question is this.

When I first opened my Co-Op account they'd only give me their basic-cashmindery-Electron account; probably because of a default from a few years ago, but also as I might not have showed on the electoral roll (I read on here it can take some time updating). Anyway, financially all is good now and has been for a long time, but this is still lurking on my file. Now although I have no need to apply for any credit cards, loans or any other financial services now or in the foreseeable future, I wonder if I'd be better keeping the accounts active or closing them? I've read on here about scoring systems measuring how much of your available credit is in use, and as I only have 1 credit card (no balance, paid off in full every month) I wonder what to do for the best?

Any advice or even opinions gratefully received!

Cheers! :beer:

    I would keep your current account with Barclays Bank open (until you've built more history with the Co-op). This is an asset particularly if you've built a good history over a number of years.

    On which account is your default lurking and how long ago was this?
    May I ask which credit card you have at the mo?

    On which account is your default lurking and how long ago was this? An old Egg credit card, settled up but shown as a default. About 2-2 1/2 years old
    May I ask which credit card you have at the mo? Amex
