Parking Charge Notice CP Plus Ltd

I just got a parking charge notice from CP Plus Ltd for parking in a motorway services for over 2 hours. As it happened my car was broken down and I was awaiting the AA. They want £50 for this, my questions are -

1. Should I do nothing, I have read that CP Plus Ltd hassle for a bit then give up?
2. Appeal with them, and tell them I had broken down (I guess they will say I still should have bought a ticket) - would it be better not to do anything and therefore not admit liability?

Appreciate any feedback on this please??

Ignore, ignore, ignore, ignore, ignore, ignore. There is no appeal procedure.

As molerat says, completely ignore everything they send you. File it if you wish but definitely ignore it.

Charging people for overstaying in motorway service areas is reprehensible. On the one had we are told to take regular rests, not drive if we feel tired and that deaths are caused by drivers falling asleep. Then you get these parasites coming along and "fining" you if you do the right thing and take a rest for a few hours.
