Anyone here know a bit about printer/scanners?

I've got a HP PSC750. The scanner is only scanning in faded yellowy/green. The scans look like the prints I get when the printer runs out of red ink. This probably isn't fixable but I'm wondering why it's like this, which bit is worn out, any ideas?

have you checked the scanner settings before you scan? Sounds like you have it set to sepia setting. Make sure its set to cmyk 300dpi colour.

I also have the HP psc 750 and it's been brilliant, had it many years and rarely any problems, but always buy original cartridges.

Recently I had a similar problem and ran the 'head cleaning' process. You'll find it in the menu, it sorted out my printer.

Do you mean the printer heads? It prints fine, it's the scanning that's problematic.

I've had a look in the settings, all 'seems' fine. Definitely not on a sepia setting, it's more of a sickly lime green colour! Oddly, it can do a near perfect colour photocopy but not a scan.

It's just started saying "scanner failure" (on the PSC not on the PC) today as well, so it looks like it's on it's way out as I suspected.
