I sincerely hope that you have not actually used the word that is blanked out in your post. If I was receiving that letter, I would be incensed at the use of profanity and all your argument would be lost. I would just take out that whole sentence. The leter is strong enough without resorting to that.

As insensed maybe as being asked for a boot in a size 7 perhaps?

    Done.

You do not need to stoop to their level of bad behaviour to get your point across and in fact you spoil your argument by doing so. The person you are writing to is not the person who behaved badly so they will see your letter in isolation of the incident and the profanity will then be seen to be directed at the readeer of the letter.

I always find when complaining (and I do seem to do rather a lot of it) that you get better results by retaining the moral high ground and I am pleased you have removed the sentence from your letter. I am sure you will get a better response by doing so.

It doesn't hurt to write it all down first and let off the steam. I have just complained to a major national company about the dangerous road antics of one of their drivers and the first version running through my head was not polite, but the copy they got was succinct and to the point. I have received an apology and an assurance that the driver will be spoken to. I am however still waiting for the apology direct from their transport which I have been assured in writing I will get.

Yep agreed. Just wound up :( I mean, if they don't want to work on Sunday's then why do they do them.

Maybe because they have no choice? But I agree that doesn't excuse rudeness.
