great move for you, but just shows how much commission is being paid out0

Not sure from your heading by what you mean as 'just switched'.
Have you been on the new tariff for a year and this is what you have actually saved over the previous year, or is this what the estimate is of the saving you will make over the next year because of the change.
If this is an estimate of your saving, take it with a pinch of salt. No matter what any direct debit has been set at, your bills will depend on what you use over the year.0 -
how do you knowyou saved £329....???
Did the salesman tell you that,
How did he know how much you were paying before, or how much power you got for the money ??0 -
I have had doorstep callers telling me i can save £200 a year on my gas bill, I asked if their gas was free, He replied no of course not, How will you save me £200 then when my yearly bill is only £200?
Online sites are quite as misleading but not found one that was accurate yet.
Some said they could save me £100+ on my gas and electric but when i checked the charges they were within fractions of a penny compared to what i was paying.
When i worked it out if the figures were correct i might have saved £6.50 a year, Dual fuel DD billing. At the time i was paying the gas quarterly so could have got it cheaper.0 -

When you used the comparison sites were you entering your Kwh usage or your spend? If you use the Kwh usage the sites will be accurate. There are lots of people that come on here saying they are not accurate but can never actually prove they are inaccurate. If you use your spend the sites come up with a usage according to your spend, which can be completely different to your actual usage because of price changes, direct debits being set too high/low etc.Missing Tesco R&R since Feb '07 :A & now a "Tesco veteran" apparently!0 -
£329? so how much were you paying before?0

I've just switched from Ebico to the eon deal and will be saving £180 in total. Plus the £62 quidco bonus too! Secret is to keep all your previous bills (easy for me as all available online.) As the eon prices are capped until December 2010, I recalculated my last years bills based on the new tariff and came up with the above saving - assuming my power usage is the same over the next 12 months of course. My previous electric spend was £580 and gas was £300.0
