Whats the difference between a 'joint account' and an 'in re' account ?

Joint a/c just means 2 or more people having one between them (with all sorts of potential legal situations possible, but in principle very simple).

'In re' sounds like an account held for instance in the name of a firm of solicitors, as in "Brown & Brown, solicitors, in re Jones decd".

Does this make sense? If not, can you give a bit more context?

Another case when In Re is used is childrens accounts 'held' by parents.
