a friend of mine had one similar it was a 100Gb portable harddrive with MMC and SD card reader,
on the front was a couple of buttons so when you inserted the card you pressed the button and the card was copyed across
Cant remember what this was called but willl get in touch and get back and let you know.

Hiya
What sort of memory card does your camera take? The most common are SD, memorystick (Sony cameras) or CompactFlash? Depends on your model of camera.
There are these sorts of copying gadgets around but they are very expensive. You're probably better off buying a load of extra memory cards. You can get 1GB SD cards now for £20. I could get about 12,500 shots onto one of them and mine is a 5 megapixel camera! Your family are going to get VERY bored if your planning on taking more than that!0 -

i dont know where you get your information from but on a 1GB card there is no way you can get 12,500 shots even on low spec

I guess the answer depends on how many photos you think you're likelt to take. If one extra memory card would be sufficient then that's probably the best idea.Stompa0 -
Cheers for the replys its a 512 mb sd card(i think). I know i can take several hundred pics with it but with a week in the Lake district & then a week in York, i'm sure my wife will go into overdrive with the camera.
It looks like i shall buy another memory card.
Where is the best place to buy one?if i had known then what i know now0 -
I can transfer photos from a camera to my Archos AV500 mediaplayer. It's expensive but if you wanted something to play music and videos on anyway it would be handy0

Ooops, your right. It sounded wrong when I wrote it! My file sizes are 800Kb per 5Meg shot so thats still > 800 shots per card.
I still think a couple of SD cards are the way to go.
Try 7dayshop.com, they sell them 1GB for £13.29 and only £3.95 P&P0 -
I've got one of the flashtrax and it's great for images, mp3's and videos. It's on special offer at the moment , see http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=186424
