well done on that. my only thing i will sya is that he prob could have got those lense (the £250 ones) for less than the old ones if you had done a bit of searching. now i don't know where u live but i am from saafampton and there is a wholesaler that sells to the public and whilst they may not be cheaper than online i like them as i can always go back if there is a problem. i bought those memory flex frames and lenses (one which is special) for £73.50 when from specsavers ur looking nearer £250

tesuhoha wrote:Thanks a bunch guys. Id just convinced myself that the M& S ads make me feel sick. Incidentally I bought a takeaway Chinese from M&S a while back and it was a total rip off and the worst one Id ever had with regard to the food itself and the very small portions. As to the lenses I saved some money this week. my son had an appointment and I was told that the thin lenses for him would cost £92. However, the lazy wotsit would not get up so i was forced to phone and cancel, so I am albeit temporarily, £92 the richer.
Hasnt he finsihed schoolyet then loveif so, time for him to start paying for his own, now hes an adult. If not maybe he'll string it out till hes got more time, ie once hes finshed school

Thanks for this very timely thread. I've been getting excited at the thought of buying a slow cooker on payday (time and money saving gadget I hope!). I done the research and have seen one for about £20. Then I saw another one for £40 which has the added bonus of steaming rice. Well, obviously, my life will fall apart if I don't have a gadget to steam rice! How on earth have I managed to cook rice without one? Reality check. The cheaper slow cooker will do the job as well as the more expensive one. I live alone so how much rice do I actually need anyway? :rotfl: I'll put the £20 "saved" towards my credit card bill. What if the hokey cokey is what it's all about? :eek:Official "Bring back Mark and Lard NOW! or else (please)" Member 160 -

I went to the opticians, and they told me my new glasses (starting with a cheapy basic frame) would be £177! I went to glassesdirect, and got a nicer pair for £15!
I spend £5 on a watch, and I "treat" myself to a new one every year. I keep the old one, so I usually have a few and can mix and match with my outfit.Murphy's No More Pies Club #209

You need to be looking at the great own brand hunt on shop but dont drop. Most of the time theres a few factories, all putting various labels on for various shops on the same products!! If you havent seen it, find it. Its most enlightening.
And come on, most of the things they make in plastic trays are so easy a bloody machine makes them, so get in the kitchen! You can do better yourself!!
Don't get me wrong, most of the stuff we eat I make from scratch, but the adverts are just oh so shiny. It's not easy having a good time. Even smiling makes my face ache.0 -

sure they are, thats cos the premium paid goes on advertising. Personaly Im avoiding anything that uses the idea I "deserve" or "worth it" jsut out of sheer bloodymindedness!!! And knowing it was that idea that got mehere in the first place:beer: Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most?
