historical share prices

I'm doing my income tax return & need to know the prices I paid for vodafone shares that I bought between 1999 thru to 2002. I've tried yahoo finance but its says that the historical data is not available for this stock. Does anybody know anywhere else I can get this information?

The company's own website is usually a good starting point - here are the historical shareprice data ( scroll down ).

many thanks Cheerfulcat - downloaded & getting on with my tax return BUT... the website only goes back to 1998 & I need prices back to 1997 (I got mixed up in my original thread).

any ideas??

Oooh, that's a little more difficult. You could try the company first - give them a ring and ask for investor relations. You could also try your local library - the librarians in mine were v. helpful, and looked up prices in old FTs for me. If it comes to the worst, you can pay ( it costs a fiver ) for the information from the Historic Price Service at the London Stock Exchange. This last has the advantage of coming in official form.
