JVC VHS/HDD/DVD Video Recorder

At the QVC Shop in Birchwood, they were selling JVC DR-MX10SEK VHS/HDD/DVD Video Recorders for £199.99.
I checked prices before, the original rrp was around £635.00, Comet are selling at the moment for around £500.00.
Apparently when they were on air, they didn't sell, so hence they have ended up at Birchwood.
Only one recorder per person.

Yes it is but the link you posted doesnt point to it!!
Also it seems the qvc shop in this thread is near warrington
The other big factor is when they switch off analogue this unit will become useless, which is why i am lookinf towards ones with built in freeview tuners"Save the cheerleader - Save the world"0 -
You can actually buy it cheaper here http://www.morecomputers.co.uk/textra.asp?pn=DR-MX10&referer=Froogle

Why is this useless when they switch off analogue?
I am looking for a combined dvd recorder/vcr - is there anything I need to know regarding how it will operate now, then when analogue is switched off?
Switch off in my area 2008!
Thanks in advance for any info.
Regards

Surely it would not matter as long as you connect it to a freeview box / SKY / NTL etc....
Will also come in handy to transfer old VHS stuff that you want to keep on DVD
Going to try and get in contact with the Birchwood store and see if they have any in stock0 -
Here is the link for the JVC at QVC
http://www.qvcuk.com/ukgasp/frameset.asp?nest=%2Fukgasp%2FIsItemNumberRedirect.asp&country=uk&txtDesc=jvc&Submit=Search
which they are selling for £487.00, so you are saving a great deal of money when you consider it is £199.99 at Birchwood.
Mine is working fab, and you don't need an analogue signal, mine is working via Sky, and there is an attachment (an eye type connection) aswell put in.
Birchwood is near Warrington via M62.
Glad my original post was of use.0 -
When they switch of the anologue signal then the analogue tuner inside will no longer pick up a signal. Put sky or freeview box onto it means that you will only be able to record the channel you are viewing. You can get them with freeview built in now like the panasonic.Birdy wrote:Why is this useless when they switch off analogue?

You will only be able to view what channel on sky/cable or freeview that you are watcing as you are then relying on the digital boxes tuner.
This is like going back to the 14" tvs with built in vcrs you could only record what you watch due to the single tuner"Save the cheerleader - Save the world"0
