Like all things, it depend if it is done well. We had all of ours done (old pine doors about 70 years old) and they look fantastic with no warping or loss of glue. As Valli said - try one first
I had 6 doors (old canadianpine from 1940's) dipped about 15 years ago. (Decision made because of the old lead paint. . . . i had already done two by hand with burner and hated it). As soon as they were home I Briwaxed them (steelwool is best but a softish nailbrush will do to lessen the elbow work). A couple of joints in panels have come apart a tiny bit, and the doors have lived through a very active son and a huge dog and a lamb and ........ well you get the picture, doors opening and shuting and slamming with the wind. So .......... as quoted, does depend on who does them, speak to other people and get personal recommendations maybe10.2009 startedclicking 16th 1free remotecontrolled extensionlead; Tesco freesims: DFW appliedfor 19th Saved £302.92 today by friend "mending" laptop I had rescued ; more freesimms : ;1 free eagashower smart (saves water);1 freebusinesscardholder;250nice businesscards;tbags; :cool:17thNovemberperfumesample;fatcheese£16.87; Get£sback £4.44:beer:0 -

A properly dipped door shouldn't suffer any ill effects.
If they are left in the caustic solution too long, sprayed off to vigourously, stacked badly to dry, or panels not wedged during drying then there can be problems.0 -

Not always. Some places use a power wash like this but using baking soda instead which doesn't immerse them and doesn't damage the wood or even fittings.

As Mech say's, that door has already been stripped and they are just pressure washing the caustic solution off.
Is the second half of the video you can see the large tanks in the background.0
