Cash Generator (not such a good exchange rate).

Options
Warning, check you good and receipt before leaving the shop.

We went to Cash Generator in Hereford to exchange UK Pounds into NZ Dollars as they gave the best rate outside of London, only later when we checked the amount we were £200.00 pounds short worth of $ short.
We contacted the store who said the till all balanced "sorry".
We contacted the Police who said " ask to see the security camera footage, if the store refuses then we will request to see it". So we asked to see the security video and were told "No, only the Police can see it".
So we went back to the Police who said "ah, it's a civil matter so we won't be getting involved" (well thank you West Mercia Police force).

Morale of the story;
Check you goods & receipt before leaving the store!

  • The morale of your story is good, but what did you want, a dawn raid and the staff in the slammer for the weekend?
  • That would be nice, but failing that my £200.00 back.

    The police are correct, unless you have evidence of intention to deprive it is a civil matter.
    Gone ... or have I?

    If you were £200 short you obviously must been changing a lot of money. If I was exchanging that amount of money I wouldn't leave the counter till I had checked I had the right money. Are you sure it wasn't some kind of fee?
