Hi,
Has anyone applied for one of these cards? Me and my partner are thinking of applying for one but are wondering if it asks you how much you wish to transfer when you are applying. We wouldn't want to apply for one of these cards if the limit wasn't enough to cover the debt.
Thanks

Welcome to MSE!
None of us knows in advance the credit limit we'll be handed. There's no evidence that a BT request made on application has any bearing on the decision.
Fingers crossed you get the limit you're hoping for.
If the worst happens, Martin's advice is to transfer what you can. Don't leave an offer unused out of exasperation. It's on your credit files, so you may as well use it. You'll still save money (See Martin's *Credit Card Limit: didn't get what you wanted?* article.

What cards are you transferring balances from?
RBS (Mint, Tesco, Natwest) and MBNA (Virgin) tend to be most generous with limits, and RBS Group adjust your credit limit up if you are transferring a balance during aplpication, typically.
Have you used the Barclaycard "Am I Eligble" link? The Simplicity card is very hard to get and you may be offered a higher APR as they are "Rate for Risk".
