How to create automatic messages for customers?

I was wondering whether it is possible to create automatic email message rensponse to ebay customers who have already paid. I have an hotmail account but I assume this cannot be done. Can I do this with outlook express?

If you sign up to selling manager pro you can have a range of emails sent automatically such as a 'thank you' note as soon as the paypal payment is received and a 'parcel has been dispatched' note as soon as you click the dispatched button, feedback can be set to go automatically on payment too. You can write them yourself, you don't have to go with the ones they suggest
I forgot to say that the cost (I think that it's around £6 per month) can be off-set by having free scheduled listings with turbo lister0
