the diary of a very bad sunshine_shell!!

Hey,

I've been on this forum for a very long time and over the last 6 months things have got out of control and i'm back hanging my head in shame :embarasse

We've moved house and i've been on some kinda wild woman spending spree and have put crazy debt onto my CC and i've even opened up a store card :mad::mad::mad: I confessed all to my lovely boyfriend:heart2: who knew something was going on. We've sat down and looked at my debt and we have paid the store card off straight away. I have also closed down my ebay account, which was another source of money draining.

I have now set up DD's to pay the minimum off each month on both my credit cards and have set up a standing order to make extra payments each month. My boyfriend also went through my purse with me and took all the naughty cards away and put them through a shredder. I have all these things i want to do by i owe so much money to different people that i need to become focused and get rid of my debt. My loan is set and can't be overpaid but once i have the CC's, overdraft and Boyf paid off i will save to pay that off. i would love to be TOTALLY debt free by 1st December 2010

sounds like you are getting it all under control which is the main thing and always good to have the support of a good man.

i have the same kind of date in mind to have cleared all of mine so will keep an eye and see how we both get on.

i know exactley what you mean i cant remember a time when i havnt had a loan to pay off. i think the main thing is you know what you owe and are dealing with it and it will take time but i will be clear. in a years time we should both be almost sorted out and can then turn to savings.

its not always easy to stay positive but hopefully with diaries we get to help out and keep motivated.

Thanks!! I paid off £5 of my A&L CC today, it doesn't seem much but everything is now set up and i'm going to concentrate all my efforts in paying off A&L first, its about £900 but its a high interest rate so i'm paying the minimum off each month and an extra £250. My Virgin Card is alot higher but 0% interest at the moment but i can't transfer the A&L on to the Virgin CC i've also had 2 no spend days which i'm quite proud off!

Hope everyone else is going ok on their journeys??

Well done on your £5 payment. Before I found this site I never bothered with small payments, I just spent the money on nothing, but you are right, the small amounts add up. I paid off my c/c a few months ago and a good chunk of it was was from small amounts here and there, change I would normally have spent so it is well worth doing. Also, do you do the free daily scratchcards? Keep up the good work.

Oh, and well done on your no spend days as well.

it is true that every bit helps and i think just to know the balance is going down often every by just 5 makes it easier. i am doing the same on cc as have high int on cap 1 and i think tesco is 0% until sept so hoping to clear cap 1 by xmas.

Thanks everyone for the kind and supportive comments, i was a member of the payment a day group when i was being good moneytroubles but i think i want to do a month beofre i look at adding extra payments!
