Where do Jeep auction off their lease cars?

Whilst we are on the subject of leasing today. Does anyone know where Jeep (or Mercedes Benz finance; whom are the finance company behind my lease) sell their ex lease cars.

My lease is up in February on the Grand Cherokee and I might keep this car if the price is right. But I need to know what 2 year old models are going through the auctions at.

My early reserach suggests that dealers are looking for around £19k but in real life they are trading at somewhere in the region of £13k (give or take on both figures) so knowing what they are selling at via auction and which auctioneers would help.

Do you know any dealers with access to BCA online/live?

If so they could get figures for you.

Unfortunately not. Will BCA give details of recent prices if you call them?

I couldn't get access to that kind of information when they were my customer and I was working on site on their IT systems :(

There are lots of reasons to get some experience at an auction before you go in to buy, getting a feel for prices is one.

Thanks Adrian, I don't want to go to auction I just want to see what they would offer me my car for at the end of my 2 year deal..:)

No point in me being unrealistic and also no point if they are going to be silly (which they always seem to try)

I don't know if they got better or not but if the future has in store for you what my father in laws now disposed of X reg. Jeep Grand Cherokee is anything to go by you'll drop it like a hot potato once the warranty is up.
Soon after warranty expiring bills in the 1500-3000 per annum range started to arrive with dodgy autobox electronics (twice), dodgy front drive shaft (twice - apparently they built them all wrong in the factory for a time) and various other gremlins.

Father in law has a new Mitsubishi L200 now which suits his purpose on the farm better than "passenger" 4x4's anyway. Clangs a bit when you close the doors and the rides somewhat jiggly but it feels robust enough and gets away with commercial vehicle tax disk rates. Cost him under £18K

What I can tell you is it will cost the leasing company somewhere in the region of £500-£700 to shift the vehicle through the auction including transportation of the vehicle from where you drop it off to the appropriate auction centre. It may sell through a purely electronic auction (best in demand vehicles do) before ever getting to a physical auction centre, in which case costs should be more towards the £500 end of the scale.
  • Have you actualy asked Daimler/Chrysler finance for a figure to buy? Given that Daimler have ditched Chysler they may been keen to just off load it.

Other option is to approach a local dealer and just ask them what its worth in part ex against something else - should give you an idea of trade value.

Has it been reliable to date? Friend has just parted company with his grand voyager which ruined him - it was almost a new car by the time he got shot as everything that could fail did
