Telling someone item is overpriced?

If you owned a shop would you be impressed if someone told all your customers they are paying over the odds and they could get the 'goods' cheaper elsewhere?

It's always best NOT to intefere in things that are nothing to do with you.

Quite often I buy in bulk from a wholesale auction, then re-sell what I don't want. In my last lot there were a load a pill box's, the type where you can carry a daily or weekly supply, I listed them all at 50p and they sold for between £3.00 and £5.00, the whole time they were listed I had someone e-mail me, constantly telling me they would only cost £1 at the pound shop and did I feel happy ripping people off. I did reply to a couple saying that listing them at 50p gave people the chance to buy them under cost price, but it obviously fell on deaf ears as he sent over 60 e-mails to me, so I then reported him. He had his account first suspended, then deleted by Ebay. I found out later, he also e-mailed all my winning bidders and told them where they could but them cheaper from.

So, keep out of it, protect your own account and let others get on with theirs, and as others have said, buy a load and sell on (I would !!)

You wonder if people like that do have a life. I've seen plenty of auctions where people are paying way over the odds. That's there problem and not the sellers.
I was talking about this to my friend this morning, I said if I want anything i'll do my reserach first and only go to Ebay as a last resort because it's not necessarily the cheapest.
If people want to pay over the odds, let them do so.

If I was you, Id go to M&S, buy 10 Jigsaws, and make £30 on Ebay, if people dont want to shop around, thats their problem.

I once had a guy send me an e-mail regarding a book I was selling. Apparently it was about £5 cheaper on Amazon but he wanted to buy it from me as I had good feedback & a better reputation than the Amazon seller. Only thing was he wanted me to sell it to him at the Amazon price! Needless to say I 'politely' to told him to go away :rotfl:.

I have to agree with some of the earlier comments stating that it shouldn't bother you. If people want to pay a premium and at the same time sellers can make a profit then this is business...I'm sure you can buy CD's cheaper on eBay than perhaps in HMV but you wouldn't go round telling those shoppers in the que at HMV to leave the store and buy on eBay....it's the same sort of thing in my opinion.

I agree with Whitey - why anyone buys CDs in many of the high street stores I don't know, because they cost way more than you can get elsewhere - but are these shops deserted?

No.

People will pay whatever they think it is worth to them, and they have their reasons (convenience, discount codes etc). Otherwise every shop would be selling every item at the same price.

And I have had one or two items go for over the odds on e-bay, but I have also sold many an item at a bargain price compared to what you would pay in a shop, so its all swings and roundabouts....

I told someone once about a psp game that was cheaper on play.com and was told he was buying this as he had money in his paypal account so it wasnt like spending his own money
