I want a PVCu door

I recently moved into a house which is approximately 9 years old. The previous owners have painted and painted over the front door and it looks a mess. Hubby was planning on sanding it down and painting it again, but I suggested a PVCu door !!!

Only problem is the cost. I assume that I am also gonna have to purchase a PVC frame and a new lock for the door etc. We have seen one for £250 ish in Wickes. But then the frame and the fitting will cost ?????

Does anyone know of any firms that will do the whole thing for me and how much it will cost ?

There are literally hundreds on eBay have quick look Here You will need to measure the brick aperture size of your current opening - Height and Width then have a good look around. DO NOT buy one without a frame they are made made as a pair. You want one that give about 5mm clearance side to side and perhaps a little less top to bottom

The door and frame, together with all locking components should come in one.The cheapest uPVC door my supplier does is £270.00 which i fit for £350.00 all in,if it is straighforward. There are several firms advertising near me that do a similar deal,so i would imagine that the same applies to you.

    Thanks for that woodbutcher.

We haven't looked for quotes yet, we had just looked at the doors.
