Mixer tap in hand luggage?

I wondered if I can take a new, boxed, mixer-tap in my hand luggage or will it be treated as a potential weapon?
I have tried looking on various airport security sites and am none the wiser.
Thanks for any advice

Are there any sharp parts to the tap?
I know someone that has taken a whole shower as hand luggage with no problems, if that helps?!Gone ... or have I?0 -
My advice would be, only take it if you can afford to have it confiscated, nobody on here is able to give you an absolute answer, because it seems that the [STRIKE]jobsworth[/STRIKE] security officers make their own rules up as they go.0

They must get trained at East Midlands then.;)0 -
lol, my parents did the same about 6 years ago when they travelled from Amsterdam to Edinburgh. Mixer taps were hard to get and very expensive in Scotland these days. They got ok through the airport but they packed it with the main luggage. I don't think they got it in hand luggage.0

On a rotating plate, with spikes like Flash Gordon
And you're Peter Duncan; I gave you fair warning0
