Edinburgh Accom Next Summer

Looking for advice on booking accomodation for 5 for 1 or 2 nights around 6th,7th August next year to go to the tatoo.

I know it's going to be expensive, but some of the prices quoted look a bit over the top.

any advice ?

Everything in Edinburgh is going to be mental that time of year. Perhaps take a different approach and stay somewhere like Berwick instead and get the train in?!
  • planning the 10:30pm Tatoo, so be after midnight we get out , so getting out to Berwick at that time of night might not be too handy, unless we can get parking somewhere central.
Have sent off a few emails, so hopefully find something, just thought someone has found some decent places not too expensive, prefer not much more than £150 a night

Have you tried the Uni halls? We stayed as a group a couple of years and booked up Uni halls as the cheapest option. The only thing is we did a week, not sure if they do odd nights
To those who are given much, much is expected

        £2025 in 2025 = £680.60
          Food Budget £180/9.30.
            Fiver Friday #13 £35
          1. All the hotel prices seem to double around that time. You could try to get a guest house somewhere up near Edinburgh University on the A772. They're pretty cheap IFRC.

We have been to Edinburgh for the last two years, stopping near Peebles. It is a half hour car journey to the park and ride near IKEA. Then approx £3.50 (for 2 adults & 2 children) for the bus to edinburgh. We found this a great way of doing it. I know the bus returns quite late, But you would need to check just how late. I'm guessing the travelodges are all booked up. There are quite a few in Edinburgh.

I expct it's the same thing. We stayed at Edinburgh Pearl Apartments in July. It cost us £79/night; for the OP's dates they are asking £300/night. I would highly recommend them at the lower price but not the higher.

Have you thought about staying in a Youth Hostel? As there are 5 of you you may be able to get a room soley for your group (provided you are happy to share?)? I've not stayed in any of the Edinburgh hostels (as I live here lol) but some hostels are lovely and if its only for 1 or 2 nights literally as somewhere just to sleep in its worth looking at! Prices for staying in Edinburgh anywhere at that time of year are just silly!
            Mortgage free as of 12/08/20!

          6. Not really fancying youth hostel, as we have 2 kids 7 and 6 and not sure how they'll do in shared or small room.

have been looking at appartments etc, and would consider staying a week but would have to be from Friday 6th, and most start lets on the Saturday.
found a really nice place 4 miles outside centre beside the beach on a bus route for under£500 for a week but starts on a Saturday, which is no good for prior and onward travel plans.

cheers again for all your help
