How do I find out the location of nearest gas mains pipe

I am looking at the possiblity of having a gas supply piped to my house and have read that if it is within 23 metres to gas mains then the supply is connected free by the GT.

Anyone know were I can get the info on the location of the nearest supply mains pipe for my street,area?

Yeah lemontart is correct the company you should contact is Scotland Gas Networks. Phone 0845 070 1432 for more details. Minimum charge is £505 + VAT.

If you give me your street name I'll tell you if there is gas in your street or phone SGN and they may tell you over the phone if the operator has access to the mains drawings.
