downloading avg files

i have just changed to dial up from broadband long story of why but have to stay on dial up till december,anyway i have had avg and now when the avg tried to update itself it took 2 and a half hours instead of the usual 1 min,is there anyway of making this faster or imi stuck with waiting?

    I have AVG and am on dial up. There were some updates last week around 2 or 3 MB but I found these took about 10 to 15 mins to update. Usually I find the regular updates are smaller than this and take a couple of minutes at most. But two and a half hour is ridiculous. Might be worth trying another dial up service.

    You can download the definitions and then update AVG manually http://free.grisoft.com/doc/24/lng/us/tpl/v5
