In praise of Salter

If any of you are in the market for kitchen and/or bathroom scales, I recommend Salter.
Their products are guaranteed for 15 years. Shop around for the best price, of course. Then scan the receipt (the heat printed ones fade over time), sit back and relax.
My electronic kitchen scales started eating batteries, even when switched off. I contacted Salter's customer service, who replied that they were obviously faulty and that, as they were the 2001 model, they must be under guarantee, and that they would send a replacement. No argument whatsoever.
However, I then got an e-mail, saying that my particular model had been discontinued. A problem? No. Just choose a replacement from the current models on their website!
Phenomenal customer service. Other companies take note. It's not rocket science.

The acquisition of wealth is no longer the driving force in my life.
