Probate Fees

Does anyone know how probate fees are determined. I have been told that it no longer depends on the size of the estate. Is that correct?

Probate fees have just been reduced and the info sent by Probate Registry is out-of-date!
  • The probate fees cited in the link from ElaineF (dating from 25th April 2000) do not seem to depend on the size of the estate. The probate fees mentioned in my Which Guide published in 1997 are higher and DO include a charge of 0.1% of the estate value.

So probate fees were reduced in 2000 and if they have been reduced again I cannot see that there is anything to worry about.
