A useful bit of information that I found out just last year is that, even if the school that your child goes to refuses to bring in the educational psycologist to test your child for special needs, you can make a direct request to the Ed psyc.
I was told this by the OT who was having an argument with my youngest son's school with regards to his problems.
Also, the benefits office are 'not allowed' to tell you what you are entitled to unless you ask!

i dont think there is anyway to get DLA or anyother benifits for being dyslexic. i am dyslexic, and i know i dont have such benifits. not applyed, never thought about it as a disibility before.
DLA is for those who have some kinda physical or mental problem - dyslexia dosnt come in this section.
on another note - i do know that i am entitled to help with buying certain materials (blue tinted glasses etc..)
Can i ask how you would know then ?If i upset you don't stress, never forget that god aint finished with me yet.0
