So you gave your personal details to a complete stranger in another country....
as for the replies that advise going on these "free holidays" that will cost you around £200 each minimum, you need to tell the truth, you may have been brainwashed but do not try to brainwash others:mad:...edit to show now over 1200 hits.Political?....I dont do Political....well,not much!0 -

Thats untrue, I paid £30pp ONLY (well £29.99) And yes that was in malaga with club la costa.
For the record I had a great week BUT refused to invest asd i didnt think it was cost effective!
You are not brainwashed NOR are you forced to sign.
What Im saying is I personally think timeshare is a waste of money because by the time you have paid for your maintanance fees and the ownership, then the expence of only being able to fly on a sat or the booking fee's, extra admin fee's for RCI because you want to go somewhere not on la costa's books you are always out of pocket BUTTTTTTTTTTTTT
The free weeks holiday is a bloody good bargain if you have the ability to say NO If you are a weak minded person and are unable to say no under a lot of pressure then I would agree you should avoid it because these people are trained in overcoming your every argument.
But if you have a bit of backbone and say I loved it but I dont want to own it then you have had a bargain.0 -
Just thought I better mention that if they are in a UK airport asking for Surveys then they are probably official Office for National Statistic workers and it isn't a scam. The Air Passenger Survey is carried out across the UK at various airports and I know they do ask fairly similar questions but this is for official government statistics.Never give up the dream! :beer:0

£29.99pp for flights to malaga, airport transfers, accommodation and even a meal is a great bargain i agree.
The problem is,is that i just dont believe it.............
So, it included flights from your local airport free?........transfers from malaga airport free? and transfers back to malaga airport free?.....no airport fees or taxes?.........just a admin fee.........or are you too shy to admit the real cost...Political?....I dont do Political....well,not much!0 -
Sorry sunshine thats the real cost,
I am thinking you maybe did this and paid a lot more than I did?
I live close to London and they used easyjet flights so yes it was local for me, that may not be the same for everyone.
Why is it so hard for you to believe? there are several people on here who have said the same thing as me? are you suggesting that we are all liars? I guess you paid a lot more and feel slightly agrivated by that?
Not to mention why would I come on here and make the statement? I have nothing to gain from it as I clearly state I think timeshare is a rip off so hardly selling it. I am saying if you are shrewd then you can bag yourself a few meals out and a holiday for pennies!!!
so I will stand by my statement say sod it and get yourself a cheap holiday and stick to your lorals and say NO to signing or parting with any cash at all points!0 -
I bought timeshare from KW Resorts around 30 years ago.....2 weeks in Mojacar (La Parata) 1st 2weeks in january from a timeshare auction in a heathrow hotel....I paid £8 per week plus a £20 admin fee......I also bought the 2nd two weeks in jan for £6 per week + £20 admin.....and 2 weeks in Club Praia de Oura Algarve Portugal for 2 weeks in march for £30 +£20 admin....these are lifetime ownership not just one year.....I was conned then and will never be conned again......how come?........the timeshare did really exist and i spent the time in them and only paid the annual maintenance fees....but only for one year then got out!.....but the annual fees cover the whole cost of any timeshare and anything you pay at the beggining to buy it is totaly lost and can never be recovered.
Around 1 in 25 people go to timeshare presentation with absolutely no intention of buying, but buy anyway, sometimes just to get away from ther pressure of the salesmen. If you can get the cheap holiday just by going to the meeting then good luck, but please dont promote it as not everybody is as strong-willed as you.........Political?....I dont do Political....well,not much!0 -
I think we are agreeing on the same thing only its getting lost in translation.
I agree you have to be strong willed to turn down the pressure of buying a timeshare, and i agree that timeshare is a waste of money and would never recommend anyone buy one, because like you said you never stop paying for something and its always more costly than if you just booked your apartment direct.
