Feng shui my bedroom - advice please

I am about to give my bedroom a face lift and as I am a chronic insomniac thought I could do worse than apply a bit of feng shui on the off chance with the right vibes in the right location I might sleep better.
Trouble is it is not at all clear that my bedroom is feng shui-able.
It is a around 11 feet square with the door sited in the northern corner. On the wall to the left of the door is a radiator. On the opposite wall to the radiator, facing south west is a large sash window. There is not enough room for a bed to fit between this window and the end of wall. On the wall opposite the door is an old Victorian fireplace with alcoves, where I currently have wardrobes. So the only available location for the bed is against the NW wall behind where the door opens.
Are there any other things I can do to improve the vibes in the room?

Don't have mirrors.
Try not to have straight lines or sharp corners.Liverpool is one of the wonders of Britain,

Use the bedroom only for bedroomy kind of things like getting dressed, sleeping, etc
If you use your bedroom to eat or watch tv you forget it's a room to sleep in so it's difficult to switch out of the 'activity' bedroom frame of mind and into the 'sleep and relaxation' bedroom frame of mind.
Make sure there is a good flow of energy (chi) around the room with no large angular pieces of furniture blocking off big parts, hide away waste paper baskets as they gather bad chi, and introduce plants with round leaves as these accumulate good chi. Also be wary of having a light fitting directly above your bed as they constantly 'press down' and focus energy downwards onto you which is obviously not what you want when you're trying to get some sleep!
This is what I remember from reading about a bit, maybe borrow a book from the library if you want some little tips?D'you know, in 900 years of space and time, I've never met anyone who wasn't importantTaste The Rainbow :heartsmil0 -
Just because some people believe in feng shui, it does not mean that there is any such thing. 'Flow of energy' what a load of nonsense. Or am I the only one who thinks this?I can afford anything that I want.
Just so long as I don't want much.0 -
Better off having a nightcap of the finest malt! Oh and don't drink tea or normal coffee or cola or eat chocolate for a good few hours before bed which all contain caffeine and will keep you awake. Fresh air and exercise during the day helps too (anything that gets the blood pumping round for a while)..i always sleep better when i've been out and about rather than sat typing drivel (!) on MSE all day.
Still i suppose if your that desperate for sleep your more likely to fall for this feng shui nonsense in the first place!0 -

Too true - the only forms of energy in my house are gas and electricity."You were only supposed to blow the bl**dy doors off!!"0
