unpaid parking "fines" sold onto debt recovery firms

Can someone clarify for me, if a PPC sells on the unpaid parking fines we have all been ignoring, to a debt recovery agency, do we still continue to ignore the threatening letters? Also if the threatening letters from solicitors have no legal status, why are the solicitors continuing to send them, are they not also guilty of misrepresentation of the law?

If they are from a private car-park they are not fines. A debt recovery agency have no legal powers and are just private citizens. As for solicitors, see my reply on a similar thread about how some solicitors will do anything for money, no matter how dodgy the scheme is. So just ignore. What part of "A whop bop-a-lu a whop bam boo" don't you understand?0 -
Absent a signed agreement or a court judgment it is not actually a debt so there is no debt to sell.
I suspect it is just a name address list sold for pennies on the pound.0
