Saving money - some tips

Hey guys so I'm on a mission to save some money...I'm from USA and my plan is something like this...
My monthly income from my student job, 50% of it I just want to lock up straight away
Now taking away my two fixed monthly deductions which is my rent and my gym membership I'm left with -
£700 a month to....feed myself mainly.
What do you guys think? Is that realistic? How shall I work it?

£700 a month to feed yourself?! I feed two of us for less than £150 a month!! Get yourself over to the old style forum for some tips. I'd also be keen to know exactly what job you've got that less than 50% of the income is £700 - you must be earning at less £1500 a month. What do you do?0

£700 after outgoings sounds very very generous to me! i think most full time workers wish they had that much! have you accounted for travel, insurance, electricity, gas, telephone, internet etc?
have a look on the old style board for recipes to cook yourself and save money.... then if you want a full overhaul, post an SOA (statement of affairs) on the DFW board and they can help find extra savings.:happyhear0 -
Old style board? What's that? A section?0
