DVD+R won't play

I have a technika dvdr2005 from tesco and my daughter has the Acoustic Solutions AS-8099 from Argos a couple of years ago.
In the past she has played dvd+rw's I have recorded on the technika with no problems but last week a recorded a film she wanted to keep on a dvd+r and she can's play it, it says no disc. I also tried it in on another dvd player we have, an alba, and it does not play on that either. Have I done something wrong or was there something I should have done? She has watched a couple of dvd+rw with no problem so I cannot understand why she cannot play the dvd+R.
Any suggestions greatly appreciated.
Thanks

Did you finalise the DVD+R disk ?
Some DVD players are choosy about what media it will play so assuming the disk was finalised, I would try a different make of disk.
Thanks

I tried finalising the disc and it still doesn't play on my daughter's dvd, also tried it in dvd drive of computer and didn't work there either.
Thanks for the suggestion though as I did not realise I had to finalise dvd+r to play them elsewhere. Maybe I should have finalised at the time I recorded the film.
Thanks again.0 -
Have to say that sadly the Tesco DVDR2005 is quite cr*p. I've had to return 2 now. Failure to write disks, and then failure to read them a little later on. It starts with DVD+R problems and then eventually starts having problems wih DVD+RW too. By all means, try a different brand of blanks, and don't forget to finalise DVD+R's before trying to play them on on another machine, but don't waste to many blanks, or too much time, as the DVDR2005 is probably on its last legs - return it for a refund.0

This may be of use; it shows the compatibilities of various players. I have also had advice from Nero support, My son who is an IT manager has said it's good.
1.that using a slower write speed can help
2. not to use RW media as some standalone players do not recognise them
3. if a recorder/ player check with the manufactuer of the machine for firmware updates
4, Make same check with manufactuer of the computer's recorder
And,as said elsewhwere try various makes of disk.0
