What should I do?

I won a snowsuit for 99p last night with £1.50 postage. I paid via Paypal then went to bed. I checked this morning and the seller has refunded my payment, saying the item was relisted accidentally and has already been sold! They only have 1 feedback, that's as a seller, and they have around 5 other items currently listed for sale.

Surely it's not that easy to 'accidentally relist something? I'm thinking that they wanted it to sell for more than 99p so changed their mind about selling it. Should I leave them feedback? I haven't contacted them yet.

Thanks

I would leave feedback saying you were dissapointed that they listed an item which they had already sold and get on with your life. THey obviously have listed the item at 99p to avoid fees and then got caught out and did not sell it for a price they wanted. Just be thankful you got an immediate refund. I have brought items cheap several times and its been a long drawn out battle with them claiming to have posted the item and it never turns up and having to go through Paypal to get a refund.

Report the seller as "non performing seller". (see E-Bay help pages - I can't do links)

Leave calm, factual feedback reflecting your experience of the transaction.

It appears too many people want to take advantage of the 99p free listings and then refuse to sell.

If they try to cancel transaction to get the FVFs back I think you should decline as you still want the item and if they should open a dispute against you, just enter the Paypal transaction number.

I totally agree with the poster above - if they did not want to sell at 99p, they should have started at a highr price and paid the listing fee.

It's the seller's responsibilty to check their listings and just my opinion but I think they deserve a neg
  • have you done an advanced search under their id, to see if they have sold this item twice within the last few weeks? just may be interesting to see before you leave feedback?
  • Leave bad feedback and stop them selling if you like but you won't get your item and the seller won't be too bothered because they don't have a business that they've worked hard to build up. Chalk it up to experience. It sucks though.
  • Big fat neg - you dont 'accidentally' relist a sold item - they just wanted more than the selling price!
