Oh dear... I haven't done any of this. You're all so wonderfully organised!!

I have made tomato chutney and mango chutney (ALDI Super Six mangos :D) for hampers though :)

I just had a quick google for Stir Up Sunday, and WikiAnswers reckons "Apparently it is the Sunday before the first Sunday of Advent which this year is Nov 29th which makes stir-up Sunday Nov 22nd" - so I'll try not to panic just yet!

Wow I am really impressed by all the MSE folks getting all prepared. I would normally have bought the pressys by now but I have decided not to have Christmas this year.

OH doesn't do gifts and cards n that anyway. I normally have to buy some gifts for flatmate and for his family- thats one for his parents and one for his brother and sister in law as we used to spend Xmas Day with them.Used to keep them to a £10 each max- plants., biscuits etc..Flatmate isnt buying pressys as he had big debts and I don't think I will go to Xmas Dinner with them this year to save money (plus there have been family issues which have changed things)

I did make pressys last year of biscuits and cranberry sauces but I don't think these were well recieved - even looked down upon and I didn't even get the expensive jars back so won't be doing that this year.

It's gonna be easier just to cancel the whole thing anyway. Will enjoy reading the MSE threads tho. :D And I hope all MSErs have a wonderful Christmas.

Surely the cakes and puddings will go off by Christmas Day??? It's still two months away.

They certainly won't go off  but they might get eaten :rotfl:

Easy, when we make our batch of puds there's always the tester on the day :D

Then a few weeks later, say mid November, another tester ........ just to make sure they're still alright :o

Of course just to make doubly sure, another tested early December

Each one with different custard/sauce, then Mrs C makes custard then a rum sauce and a brandy sauce on christmas day. The pud is always the highlight of our christmas dinner :D
