Funds Xferred from Paypal not showing

I'm a very light eBay user and I've never really had any problems with any of it until now.

I sold an item last month and when the cash went into Paypal, (£24.43 after fees and stuff), I transferred it to my bank. The money still hasn't appeared in my account, the bank say there is nothing showing as pending or refused and Paypal say the money WAS transferred successfully.

Paypal say to progress this, I need to fax them a bank statement so that they can initiate a trace...

1) I feel iffy about faxing a copy of my statement across, showing personal transactions, balances, account numbers etc

2) I'm on paperless billing...my bank charges a fiver for statement copy.

Any similar experiences? Any other ways of solving this?

How long have you left it since sending the money ? It can take a week to show.
Also, have you checked your bank account details on paypal are correct ?

Paypal say 3-5 working days, and it's been 8 at the moment. I'm going to give it a while longer before I start kicking up.

It's the fact I've got to pay £5 for a paper statement, to trace a missing payment of £25 quid that is irking me. 20% down the pan already.

Can't you print a statement? If you fax it, PayPal won't know it's from a printout rather than from your bank - surely?

printout from the screen doesn't show sort code, and the response from Paypal says it has to.

Really? from memory mine have always gone through quicker (but as I said, I'm an infrequent user).

I'll give it a week or so and see if it shows. Thanks for your replies everyone.

Thats transferred to Bank of Scotland (halifax) has taken 10 days before. Natwest and Cydesdale always seem to be in the 3 to 5 days Mark
  • 8 days isn't very long to wait. I've had transfers [natwest] take about 12 days before. Seems a tad early to be kicking up a fuss now. Just give it some time...
