Just to take you closer to the booking portal: https://pt.dsa.gov.uk/tests/tests_E/tt/data_processing.asp# which is the official and direct link to the booking service. The statutory fee is £31.
BEWARE various sites that give you info about the theory test and offer to book it for you. Although the bookings through them are genuine, they hide an "admin charge" in their small print for doing so which will make you pay over the odds. A few people have complained after booking through those sites.
I'll assume the test you want to take is for a car. Check this link for the official government bookstore offer: http://www.tsoshop.co.uk/bookstore.asp?FO=1207775&DI=615935 This package works out cheaper than buying the discs individually. Of course, other publishers' variants are available, but do check the dates. The theory test question bank changes every September and a lot of bookshops keep the obsolete 2008 versions on the shelves until they're sold.is there any preparation material you can reccommend?
As for the Highway Code, of course it's good to be thoroughly familiar with it, but you have to learn more than what's in there. For example, one question asks, "Using a mobile phone while driving is illegal. Your chances of having an accident increase by...". There's a choice of various multiples, but the answer is not in the Highway Code. Use the recommended reading material and the answer is in there somewhere.0 -

I highly recommend this CD Rom for all the info you will need, and it has a very accurate hazard perception test which is identical to what you'll do on the day.
Also has videos and help for the practical side of things.

I bought this cd rom for my theory and I passed first time only getting one question wrong. Also scored good marks in the hazard perception. The exact same questions came up on the test as what were on the disk.2012 wins! can of deodorant, a personalised Bean, craft show tickets, Top Gear Live Tickets, Case of sourz fusion0
