Activation Question

I recently received my new replacement Capital One CC. which says I must telephone them to activate it. Last time I did this I had to listen to a hard sell for anxillary services including CCP. I always deal with telephone callers with respect, so shouting at them, or talking over them, saying I don't want anything is not an option.

Has anyone NOT activated their card, and what happened.

Replacement credit cards do go astray in the post sometimes. The activation call is an extra layer of security to ensure your new card has reached you safely.

If you attempt to use the card without first activating, it may be declined. I would get it over with ASAP. Most lenders provide a dedicated, Freefone number for this, so at least you're not paying for the blinking call.

I didn't activate my MBNA card from the recent 1.9% APR offer and they kept sending my txt messages.

I have no interest in using the card but thought i better call in the end to make sure i stay within their terms and cons for the sake of the SBT i did.

I had the card protection plan sell and the £70 a year for the identity theft cover thingy. No and No
