Hi,
I know Martin said in one of this articles, you can sometimes get a cheaper ticket if you buy your tickets in two.
I was just wondering, if the £314.90 monthly ticket from Hove(sussex) to London victoria can be cheaper. I've been playing with the season ticket calculator for a bit but can not see any other way to get this cheaper.
My situation is as follow...
I do not want to be restricted to FFC route only for parts of my journey and I do need to get a bus to zone one once I get into Victoria(and back). So in total I expect to spend around £354 a month.
Anyone come up with a cheaper monthly cost?
Many Thanks

Is that extra £40 a month for travel to zone 1 a railcard as part of the season ticket? If so you could look at Oyster PAYG for the bus journeys (£1 a journey) as an alternative. Not much in it though - depends how many days you work in the month, but could save (or lose!) a few pounds a month
Although there are bound to be exceptions, splitting tickets does not normally work with season tickets.0 -
Sorry, just to cleaer things up, £40 was me working out the average times I go into work and back. So I work five times a week, that's roughly 20 days a month and I make 40 bus journeys within Zone one. Using a PAYG0
