ebay/paypal-can i pay with 2 or 3 different cards?

friend bought a car for 4000 but wants to pay with more than one credit card, as the credit limits on each are lower than the 4000, is this possible?

Are you sure the seller is happy to receive funds via paypal? Fees will be high and there will be no proof of postage (both bad for them).

Anyway, you can make multiple payments, ie 4 payments of £1k each which would solve the problem. You will however need to add the additional cards to your account.
  • the item will be collected and seller is happy with paypal its just how to go about paying specific amounts on each card? when i choose the card it assumes i want to pay the full amount on that card instead of allowing me to adjust the amount and use another card for the rest?

As far as I understand it you cant pay by multiple cards and have it appear on paypal as one transaction.

The seller's braver than me, then. £4,000 with no proof of delivery .

This really should be a cash in hand deal (which may be easier for the buyer as well, they could just withdraw as cash all the money they need from whatever mediums they choose).

I'm with you on this one. In fact I would go further and wonder what the seller is up to?

Paypal + Car..it just doesn't feel right at all.

My thoughts are going the same way on this and I'm obviously way too suspicious but there has to be a reason why they are happy to take an unsafe payment method.

I'm ashamed to say that my first ebay sale was of my dads ambulance and I insisted on paypal. :o

Ebay have a tendancy to overhype paypal, and I was dumb enough to not properly think about it.

All went off okay for me, but a lot of people are not as naive as me, so be careful OP.
This is my opinion. There are many others like it but this is mine

I am a professional ebay seller. I work hard at my job, I love my job, if you think it's silly that's your problem not mine. :p
