On a comparison though. Is heating a small room with a fan/oil radiator going to be cheaper than running the central heating for the whole 2 bed bungalow?
Try each and see. We can sit here guessing until we're blue in the face (or, rather, you are) and it will not answer anything. There are too many variables.
(Alternative solution is a wireless laptop and sitting in the garden - that's often more comfortable than an inside damp cold.)0 -
I've just invested in a new hot water bottle and a new blanket, plus I got a new pair of slippers for my birthday
I'm sitting here now with my jumper, fleece, dressing gown and blanket around me. It's like being a michelin man.0 -
I'd like to know as well re heater vs central heating as we both work from home. I think it's freezing today! -I lasted till about 1 pm and then had to put the heating on full blast as I was soo cold.0

Just have the heating on in the room(s) you use. Turn off all the other radiators until you need them.
In general terms gas CH is about one third, to one half, of the running cost of electrical heaters0 -
