Private PArking Fine

Hi,

Hopefully somebody can advise me, my partner has received a private parking fine at a supermarket. He has ignored it and it has now been bought by a credit management company. Does anybody know what our rights our regarding this? Martin has said on an article that these private parking fines cannot be be pursued by companies as they are 'illegal', however now the debt has been sold I'm unsure where we stand.

Not sure about this so I suggest you open a new thread/transfer this one onto the parking section. Some very knowledgible people on there who may not look on here.

ignore it simple as that

they wont take you to court as their charges are extortonate (sp?) compared to their actual loss ( the cost to park in the car park), which is probably free anyway..
you will get a few more letters threating legal action yadda yadda but it will go away

edit- also as the registered keeper of the car is not liable and you dont have to provide details of the driver at the time they have no chance

also the only legal tickets are issued by police/council only
