Gold sovereigns

I am thinking of investing in gold sovereigns, could anyone tell me if this is a safe investment and where is the cheapest place to buy? Thanks

How do you mean, safe? If you mean "is this an investment guaranteed not to lose money" then no, it isn't safe. In fact with the price of gold where it is right now, and the state of commodities investing in general, I would say that gold is pretty risky...FWIW, I would generally view physical gold as a hedge for a portfolio of investments, not so much an investment in itself.
You can read about investing in gold here; they sell sovereigns as well, fairly reasonably priced.
