Postage dispute

I won an item yesterday and paid immediately with Paypal, it clearly stated the postage was FREE. This evening I have received an email from the seller saying that he was unable to rectify his posting after he had placed the item. I find this hard to believe, as he has sold over 176 items, surely he must know the rules? Also I had sent him an email a couple of days ago asking for some more details which he sent, why didn't mention the postage then?
I have replied to his email this evening saying that I had made the bid taking into consideration the FREE postage. I await the reply.
In the event he refuses to send the item, what steps should I take? any help would be appreciated.

sounds like it didn't sell for as much as what he hoped for. If he refuses to sell to you, report him to ebay as a non-performing seller - he could have altered the description stating that postage had to be paid after he realised his mistake. He may neg. you for refusing to pay, but follow it up with Seller charged postage despite auction stating post free.0

I would also say that you bid on the auction thinking that the postage was free - how much was he wanting to add to the total and was it quite alot anyway? Either way I would be inclined to refuse as they had ample time to alter the listing as the previous poster here says. If he still refuses do a non performing seller!Weight Loss - 102lb0
