Short break last minute deals - what are the chances?

Hello,

This is my first query on MSE, so be nice!

I am planning to go away with my girlfriend for a short break abroad in mid June. We don't mind where we go. Unfortunately we have a few other restrictions...

Firstly, I am a student and I am not particularly well off, though my debt is in a manageable state. Excluding spending money and food, I can afford up to approximately £160 for this trip.

Secondly, the dates I require are very specific. If a north west airport is used, the earliest we can catch flights out is on the evening of 20th June. Alternatively, we shall have to leave the next day. I need to return by the 24th June if a north-west airport is used, although I can push it to the morning of 25th June if a London airport is used - I start a new job on the 26th.

This sounds ideal for a ryanair/book-it-yourself type arrangement, and it's likely that we will end up doing this. However, I have seen a number of amazing last minute deals on the internet recently.

My question is do last minute deals dry up in June? Do last minute deals for 3 day breaks exist? Where is the best place to find them? How long shall we wait?

Thanks

Last minute for 3-4 days are often twice and three times the cost of 14 days holidays you will be much better off doing DIY. Is the 160 per person?
If you look anything like your passport photo....Your too ill to travel

    Yeah it's 160 per person.

Occasionally there are some good deals on http://www.lastminute.com/site/deals/lastsecond/homepage.html for short breaks, but they seem to be 4 days which is pushing it a little.

Airtours have a 3 night break on the 20th to Tenerife but base price is 179 and I cant get on to it to see the flight times.
Best bet is to go to https://www.skyscanner.net and the try places like https://www.medhotels.com this will give you much more flexablity than a packsge as you only have a short window to work with

North-west airports if leaving Tuesday night and returning Saturday.
London airports if leaving Wednesday and returning Sunday.

    Destination can be anywhere.
