Vinegar as window cleaner

Hi. I have read all about the wonders of vinegar around the house on this website. I've brought 5 liters of white vinegar and finally have an empty spray bottle to use but, what ratio of vinegar to water should i be using to clean my windows?
thanks.

    Hello Matty_Hunt

I've looked in my Kim and Aggie book especially for you!

    They advise:

"...one part water, nine parts water. But the solution needs to be rubbed off firmly with old newspaper or it can leave smears."

Then a bit deeper into the book they say:

"After washing windows with a warm soapy water solution, buff up with benegar and kitchen towel."

Then about half way through the book on the page all about cleaning windows they give this advice:

"Condensation tends to form on the windows in living rooms, as they are often kept at a higher temperature than other rooms. Windows should be cleaned as and when necessary. You probably won't need to do it every week (like who is gonna bother!!) but it will be much easier if you give them a quick wipe over frequently.

"For super sparkling non-smeary windows, use the vinegar method! Mix one part distilled white vinegar to nine parts water in a spray bottle. Spray sparingly on the glass and either buff dry with paper towel or, using the traditional method, polish with scrunched-up newspaper. The print on the paper adds to the shine, and it's cheap. However, the print does tend to get on your hands, so feel free to wear rubber gloves.

"Wash very dirty windows using a bowl of warm water with a little washing-up liquid. Wipe the soapy water over the windowpane and dry with a clean lint-free cloth or chamois leather"

I hope that's helpful to you. If you want some practice you're welcome to come to my house! ;D
