My wife is slightly hard of hearing, so would like to buy a new pair of phones.
The phones must have a good volume control on them and be of good sound quality. ,
What is the best make to buy for sound quality?
what is a good twin set of phones to buy with good volume adjustment.
Any advice would be appreciated.
many thanks.

You have two options, buy a phone with an amplified earpiece (or two) which can help overcome the normal quietness of the standard handset. Other phones have a built-in induction couple, which allows for hearing aids (with the 'T' setting) to pick up the incoming voce and transfer it to the wearer's hearing aid. There are a number of manufacturers, but for the 'insudtrial strength' models, the Society for the Deaf have published a leaflet.0

The 'T' setting on hearing aids will work brilliantly with phones that are described as "Hearing Aid Compatilble" on the packaging. About 50% of standard landline phones are hearing-aid-compatible, the rest aren't.
For mobile phones and many cordless (walk-about) phones, the magnetic field in the handset is rarely strong enough to work with the 'T' setting. For thos etypes of phone - mobile and cordless - if they have 'bluetooth' then they can be paired with the latest bluetooth compatible hearing aids from the likes of Siemens, Phonak, Oticon, and others.0 -
