Ebay; Collection of Items - What's the Recommendation?

I've had two people ask now if they can collect an item from me, if they win, as they are local to me.

I am fine with this as it will save me posting, and will save them on postage. However I have read things in the past about being scammed, chargebacks, etc.

What's the best way. Should I allow collection, or is it best to stick to posting it where I have tracking?

Thanks.

Ask for cash on collection. If they pay via paypal you cant prove delivery so they could technically put an item not received case through paypal

i'm with cyberbob, say collection is welcome but you will only accept cash on collection, no paypal. If they then win and pay by paypal (as i've had happen a few times 'sigh') just refund it with a note saying you do not accept paypal on a collected item.

Just remember though that you are then in breach of ebay rules which say that paypal must be accepted on all sales, except thos ein the motor categories.

Also once a buyer pays and gets refunded you can't then open an nPB on them if they refuse to pay by cash instead.
