Halifax Loans PPI

I took out various loans with Halifax between 2003 and 2006 and had PPI's on 5 of them, I was always under the impression that I had to take them out to get approved as I was only 18 when I took the first one out and wasnt earning a great amount. Does this mean I was missold?

I did send the first templated later on the 14th September asking for them to respond to my claim, I have stil heard nothing? How long do they have to respond and are they not responding because they think I dont have a claim against them?

Any help would be appreciated

Si

    Hello and welcome Si.;)

Yes I think you have a good case here, also being young and vulnerable.

They have 8 weeks in full to respond, if you hear nothing by then, your entitled to move on to the FOS, let us know when you hear, and we shall take it from there of your next step, but hopefully they will resolve and pay up on all the PPI they have mis sold you.

Did you write all the 5 account numbers on the letter?

  • Hiya, thanks for your reply...Yes I wrote my customer reference and then each individual loan number on the letter..As for the amounts I paid I am not sure but am I right in thinking they should work that out?

    Cheers again

That is good then, and yes they should send you a written breakdown on request of each one, if they don't then ask if they can supply these to you.

However, there is no harm in actually writing to them now for the ones that you settled for a detailed written breakdown, to see if they actually rebated anything into taking out a new loan, where you should be entitled to the remainder of the rebate if successful.
Just keep at them, you will be fine.;)

  • Hi all...Recieved a letter from Halifax this week saying due to me being a loyal customer they will refund the PPI I paid to put me back in a posistion had I never taken out the insurance...I then recieved a phone call saying it had been sent to the calculations team who will work out what I paid on all 5 loans, the interest on that and also 8% interest on top of that which would have been added had it gone to court!!! :j

Cheers to your help...Another success against these greedy people

Can anyone help me with this query......I recieved the letter saying they were calculating but still havent heard anything from them and have misplaced the letter which had a direct phone number to the departments dealing with the PPI reclaims...Does anyone know it? It was a landline and not an 0845 or anything...Cheers
