Action Coach

Has anyone on this forum had any experience of working with an Action Coach?
I read that someone had been to one of the Brad Sugars events, I was scheduled to go to one last week but was sick with a sore throat and fever. My business partner who is more operational than business side of things did go along and enjoyed it.
I have been to one of the Action Coach seminars in August and then booked a follow up meeting from which we signed up to work with a coach.
Curious if to find out if anyone has had any experience.:rotfl:

Its now three weeks since we signed up with an Action Coach and its going well.
Its early days for us but already we are beginning to use the help and coaching to look at aspects of our business where we need focus on setting up more formal systems plus marketing to increase business with our existing customer base.
I'll write more as time progresses and if anyone does decide to engage or has already had experience with an Action Coach it would be good to compare/share the experience.0 -
Thank you for your reply. As we were not looking to take on the franchise for Actioncoach I did not look for this type of feedback. None the less is was interesting to read but we are pretty thorough about doing research and made an informed decision before we engaged with the guy....
We interviewed him to understand his background plus we attended one of his seminars. He has a solid background working for major blue chip global companies both in this country and various others plus his background has synergy with our company. His testimonials are not only from companies he has worked with as an Action Coach but also from his previous companies where he worked in a few different business orientated roles. We were satisfied that as an individual he has the right credentials to help us.
Did we make the right decision? Only time will tell...but I very optimistic based on whats happening so far.

Chezis there is hundreds of horror stories for his service you are obviously spamming for.0

I take offence to your reply. Please dont call me a spammer. I am a small business owner and I posted on here out of good faith. I do not know you and you do not know me and unless I am wrong this is a forum to discuss all things relating to small business. No? It is quite possible that someone has had experience in dealing with an Action Coach and I was interested in that. What on earth is wrong with that???????
As I said I am optimistic and will remain so unless I am proved to be wrong and so far I am happy.
As for you, please crawl back under the stone from which you crawled out from and keep your negative opinions to yourself unless you have something constructive to add to the discussion. Do not bother replying because is obvious that you have trouble stringing a sensible sentence together...
Good day and good luck to you.0 -
Chezis - I too run a small business and cannot afford the services of an action coach (my local one charges £3K just for a meeting), however that hasnt stopped her from being helpful and pointing me in the direction of a networking group called 4Networking (after a disastrous meeting with the BNI). I don't like to name drop but I know Brad Sugars reasonably well having been a facebook friend for about 9 months and we had a good chat whilst at one of his seminars. Brad understands that business start ups have very little money so he has pointed me in the direction of his free e-books and various free things at Action Coach - he also uploads free coaching videos onto facebook from time to time.
My business has also formed a strategic alliance with a company who has the support and even investment from an Action Coach.
Even though I cannot afford Action Coach fees, I have learnt a tremendous amount and although people may knock him (usually jealous and poor) he is a thoroughly decent chap and who else can claim to have retired at 26? He is in semi-retirement now and is still willing to share his knowledge with people - sure you can pay if you want but you can also learn for free.0 -
Anyone reported this bloke for spam yet?! Chris Cardell - he's another one of this lot...£40 a month for ancient info that any fool could pick up online, 'cept Chris Cardell puts it in an email for you and gives you links to videos...Bravo, Chris.
If you were such a great businessman, you'd be CEO of something other than your own ego lead company.

I hadnt realised that Chris Cardell was a spammer - I thought he was genuine. The bit I posted about Action Coach is my experience with them and Brad Sugars who runs the company.0

We are not being charged £3K. Although we are a small business we are fairly sucessfull. But we dont know everything and we need help in a number of areas e.g implementing systems and working more efficiently. We did have a free one day visit from someone from Scottish Enterprise who looked at our processes and flow. She did a report and based on her findings said we needed another 3-5 days of consultation at £600 per day....but we decided to take a chance with an AC......
I missed the Brad Sugars event in Glasgow as I was in bed with swine flu but he seemed to make a good impession on my son and my sister who both work in the business with me.
I remain optimistic and had not realised that Brad Sugars was not well regarded!0 -
Action Coaches vary as do their prices - my local one charges £3000 per meeting. Brad Sugars is what he is - a very astute man who has made his money from coaching and writing books about business. I have no problems with him per se as I have found him to be helpful when I have approached him so rather than pay for action coaching you could say I get it for free from him and via his various websites.
https://www.actioncoach.com - there's free stuff on there that you can use. I don't think that he offers anything different from Business Link or from Chamber membership where you get a business manager to help you with your business.0
