Hi i have been reading about the PPI insurance. I had 2 doorstep loans a couple of yrs ago with London Scottish both had the PPI insurance on them and totaling just over £500!
I was not working at the time but was made to feel i wouldnt get the loans without this insurance. London Scottish have gone out of business now and are under a different name but i cannot get my money back due to the fact they have gone out of business has anyone else come accross this? thanks

Hi there
It may be worth you contacting the Financial compensation scheme (FSCS), these are listed with them, where you can make a claim for compensation.
How long ago did you take out the loans?
Ring the FSCS, and they will then advise on a claim if eligible, depending on how long ago you taken this out I believe, but you should be okay.
FSCS here:
http://www.fscs.org.uk/contacts/
There is also a thread as well, above of companies in default, but I am aware that London Scottish are already in default, where you can put in a claim now with the FSCS.
Good luck and please let us know how you get on.;)The one and only "Dizzy Di"

Thanks the loans were taken out in 2006 roughly. I have rang companies that claim to get your money back but they said it is a lost cause as they are out of business and i am way down the list for getting my money back. But i will contact the FSCS to see if they can advise me further thank you.0

You will be fine then.;)
You can claim through the FSCS but no one else.
So go for it.
If you go to that link I posted above, go onto default information, write in London Scottish in the search box and there you will see that of London Scottish.
I also have a claim with the FSCS about a business that went into liquidation, who are also now in default, and they are dealing with my claim now, you will also find that in the above thread there are many going through claims with the FSCS as well, good luck and I'm sure you will be okay.;)The one and only "Dizzy Di"
