in Credit cards
Hi everyone,
I've just had to make a purchase on my card, whilst i'm still within limit i've just checked my account and once the interest and PPI is taken I would've gone overdrawn by about £20.
My own stupid mistake, but would it be in my best interests to give them a call to give them the heads up or just leave it and accept the consequences when the statement comes in?
Thank you in advance

I've literally just made a payment of £30, literally all i could spare, but the payment won't go out until Tuesday and i'm not sure if it'll make it in time.

If they slap any charges on you I would phone up and explain. Since you've put in a payment ASAP and if it's your first offense they probably will remove the charges.
Wait and see!0 -
I would still give them a call to make sure all will be OK, you never know they might be able to increase your limit by £50 or somthing.0

I would also suggest going over to the debt free wanabe board, as going this close to your limit indicates an underlying overspending problem.0

In hindsight, it may have been better to call them and make a payment over the phone using your debit card. Firstly, it would more than likely have credited your account quicker, and secondly, it would have given you a chance to get your file annotated so that you're not bombarded with calls from 'collections' first thing Monday morning.I've literally just made a payment of £30, literally all i could spare, but the payment won't go out until Tuesday and i'm not sure if it'll make it in time.

While you're on the phone grovelling may I suggest you cancel that PPI?

Believe me that's being knocked right on the head. I need to start pulling myself out of the mess i've got myself into. At 28 years of age and I still live at home, this isn't good!
Many thanks to all!0 -
I wish I still lived at home. Financially I'd be sorted.0
